## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING LANDING AT AVX, THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE INCURRED A DOWNDRAFT JUST PRIOR TO FLARE ON RUNWAY 22. THE A/C MADE A HARD LANDING, AT THE TAXIWAY EDGE PRIOR TO REACHING THE RUNWAY. THE NOSE WHEEL STRUCK THE TAXIWAY EDGE CAUSING THE NOSE GEAR TO COLLAPSE AND MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE A/C. THE A/C CAME TO REST ON THE RUNWAY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. PILOT REPORTED WINDS WERE CALM PER AWOS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
