## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23)ON SEPTEMBER 6, 2009 JUST BEFORE 6:30 PM THE PILOT OF N701V COMPLETED HIS PRE-FLIGHT AND RUN-UP THEN TAXIED INTO POSITION PRIOR TO THE RUNWAY LINE FOR RUNWAY LINE FOR RUNWAY 19 ON TAXIWAY F AT BREMERTON NATIONAL AIRPORT. THE PILOT TURNED THE AIRCRAFT INTO A QUARTERING POSITION AWAY FROM THE WING, HOWEVER JUST PRIOR TO TURNING THE AIRCRAFT TO LOOK FOR TRAFFIC A WIND GUST PICKED UP THE AIRCRAFT ON THE RIGHT WING AND FLIPPED THE AIRCRAFT ON ITS BACK CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR09CA433](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR09CA433), Sep 7, 2009: Swalley Mark H CH 701 SP (N701V), Bremerton, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for the gusty wind conditions and failure to maintain aircraft control.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
