## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED TERRAIN AFTER TAKEOFF FROM THE TRUCKEE-TAHOE AIRPORT (TRK), TRUCKEE, CALIFORNIA. WITNESSES REPORTED OBSERVING THE AIRPLANE TAKEOFF FROM RUNWAY 19 AND TURN SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT. THE WITNESSES STATED THAT THE AIRPLANE SEEMED LIKE IT WAS NOT CLIMBING AND STARTED TO DESCEND. SUBSEQUENTLY, THE AIRPLANE CRASHED ABOUT ONE-HALF MILE SOUTHEAST OF THE AIRPORT AND NOSED OVER. ONE PASSENGER REPORTED THAT PRIOR TO TAKEOFF, THE PILOT PERFORMED AN ENGINE RUN-UP AND DID NOT NOTICE ANYTHING IRREGULAR WITH THE AIRPLANE. THE PILOT PROCEEDED TO TAKEOFF ON RUNWAY 19. THE PASSENGER STATED THAT THE CLIMB WAS NORMAL UNTIL THE AIRPLANE SUDDENLY PITCHED UPWARD. THE PILOT LEVELED THE AIRPLANE AND THE "RIGHT WING DIPPED." AS THE PILOT LEVELED THE AIRPLANE A SECOND TIME, THE "LEFT WING DIPPED' AND THE AIRPLANE IMPACTED THE GROUND. A GENERAL WEIGHT AND BALANCE CALCULATION REVEALED THE AIRCRAFT WAS LOADED WITH 80 GALLONS OF FUEL, 320 POUNDS OF BAGGAGE AND 583 POUNDS OF PILOT/PASSENGERS. THE DENSITY ALTITUDE FOR TRK AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT WAS ABOUT 7,500 FEET.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain adequate airspeed for flight, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall and subsequent impact with the ground. Contributing to the accident was the intermittent failure…

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong.
