## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PARACHUTE JUMPER ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ JUMPED FROM N820AB AND MISSED LANDING ZONE (DELAND AIRPORT, FLORIDA. 32720) BY ONE HALF MILE AND LANDED ON HIGHWAY 92. PARACHUTE JUMPER HAD ON A HEAD CAM. THE FOOTAGE WAS INTERPRETED BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ (OWNER) OF SKY DIVER DELAND. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ARRIVED AT THE SCENE AND TALKED TO THE JUMPER, WHO SAID HE OPENED THE CHUTE AT APPROX 2800 FT AND WHILE DESCENDING, SPENT AN UNUSUAL AMOUNT TO TIME TRYING TO SECURE HIS PARACHUTE SLIDER. AT APPROX 1200 FT HE REALIZED HE HAD DRIFTED AWAY FROM THE LAND ZONE AND WOULD HAVE TO MAKE A LANDING ELSEWHERE. UPON LANDING THE HE TURNED 180 DEGREES AND LANDED BEFORE HE COULD FLAIR HITTING THE HIGHWAY AND SUSTAINING INJURIES TO THE RIGHT UPPER ARM AND PELVIS. THE JUMPER PASSED AWAY AT THE HOSPITAL THE NEXT DAYS LANDING ELSEWHERE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
