## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2009, FROM ENTERPRISE, OR (8S4) WITH INTERMEDIATE STOP AT CORVALLIS, OR (CVO) TERMINATING AT ALBANY, OR (S12) AT APPROXIMATELY 1700 HOURS PDT. FOLLOWING A NORMAL UNEVENTFUL LANDING ON RWY 34, DURING ROLLOUT THE PILOT, DEBORAH ORIGER, STATED SHE IMMEDIATELY REALIZED THE LEFT BRAKE WAS NOT RESPONDING AS SHE BEGAN TO APPLY BRAKES. SHE DEPRESSED BOTH BRAKES AGAIN. THE LEFT BRAKE DID NOT RESPOND. DEBORAH STATED: "TO AVOID A PROP STRIKE, I DECIDED NOT TO CONTINUE THE ROLLOUT STRAIGHT AHEAD INTO THE GRASS BECAUSE OF A DRAINAGE DEPRESSION AND FENCE. I DEPRESS THE RIGHT BRAKE HARD, DEPARTING THE END OF RUNWAY 34 ONTO A GRASSY AREA AND COMING TO A STOP WHEN THE LEADING EDGE OF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE HORIZONTAL STABILIZER HIT THE METAL RUNWAY SIGN BOX. THE IMPACT TO THE HORIZONTAL STABILIZER LEFT A SIGNIFICANT GASH, ROTATED THE ENTIRE HORIZONTAL STABILIZER, AND TORE PLUS WRINKLED THE FUSELAGE SKIN. I TAXIED BACK TO THE HANGAR." THERE WAS NO BRAKING PROBLEM NOTED AT ENTERPRISE, OR (8S4)OR AT CORVALLIS, OR (CVO).

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR09CA478](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR09CA478), Sep 14, 2009: Cessna T210J (N899KM), Albany, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The malfunction of the left main wheel brake during landing due to inadequate hydraulic fluid in the left brake pedal master cylinder due to leakage.

## Other reports on N899KM (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19900907060369I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19900907060369I), Sep 7, 1990: Cessna T210J (N899KM), Grand Junction, CO, Minor damage. Almost landed gear up. Go around made as belly scraped the runway. Landed safely on second try.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
