## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRMAN HAD BEEN PRACTICING TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS. ON INCIDENT LANDING THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN AND THEN DEPARTED THE RUNWAY COMING TO A STOP APPROXIMATELY 200 FEET LEFT OF THE RUNWAY WITH THE AIRCRAFT FACING 180 DEGREES TO DIRECTION OF LANDING. PILOT STATED THAT HIS NOSE WHEEL DIRECTIONAL CONTROL WAS LIMITED BY STRUCTURAL DESIGN OF THE RUDDER/BRAKE ASSEMBLY WHICH KEPT HIM FROM APPLYING ADEQUATE NOSEWHEEL PRESSURE TO KEEP THE AIRCRAFT ON RUNWAY. ON TOUCHDOWN AFTER DEPARTING RUNWAY THE PILOT FAILED TO RETARD THROTTLE TO THE IDLE POSITION. THIS RESULTED IN THE AIRCRAFT TRAVELING FARTHER FROM THE TOUCHDOWN POINT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
