## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS EN-ROUTE FROM SALEM, NC TO CASTLE AIRPORT, MERCED CA. UPON ARRIVAL AT CASTLE AIRPORT, THE AIRCRAFT LANDED NEXT TO THE TEMPORARY RUNWAY ON AN UN-IMPROVED SURFACE (DIRT). DURING LANDING ON THE UNIMPROVED PORTION NEXT TO THE TEMPORARY RUNWAY, THE AIRCRAFT RAN OVER A TAXIWAY SIGN AND IT TOOK OVER 3000 FEET FOR THE AIRCRAFT TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. ONCE STOPPED THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED ON A PERPENDICULAR TAXIWAY AND TAXIED TO THE MAINTENANCE HANGAR. THERE WAS NO SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE FOUND ON THE AIRCRAFT. CURRENTLY, THE MAIN RUNWAY AT CASTLE AIRPORT IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. TAXIWAY A HAS BEEN MODIFIED TO BE A TEMPORARY RUNWAY ACCORDING TO THE NOTICE TO AIRMAN (NOTAMS). IN DOING SO, THE AIRPORT OFFICIALS HAVE ELECTED TO CHAGNE THE BLUE TAXIWAY LIGHTING TO WHITE LIGHTING. THIS APPARENTLY CAUSED THE PILOTS TO BE CONFUSED BECAUSE THEY WERE LOOKING FOR BLUE TAXIWAY LIGHTS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
