As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED AND FLIPPED UPSIDE DOWN IN LAKE OTIS. CONFLICTING STATEMENTS FROM ALL INVOLVED PREVENT AN ACTUAL DEPICTION OF THE FACTS. THE PASSENGER HAS NOT ISSUED A POSSIBLE CLARIFING STATEMENT AT THIS TIME. THE AIRCRAFT ENGINE AND AIRFRAME WERE INSPECTED AND NO ABNORMAL DEFECTS WERE FOUND.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA09FA524](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA09FA524), Sep 17, 2009: Curtis John P SEA REY (N563JL), Winter Haven, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The flightcrew's failure to maintain adequate airspeed while maneuvering during a simulated engine failure, resulting in an aerodynamic stall and uncontrolled descent.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
