## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACCORDING TO THE PILOT IN AN INTERVIEW, ABORTED TAKEOFF ON RWY 23 WHEN HE NOTICED THAT HE DID NOT HAVE THE ALTITUDE TO CLEAR THE EMBANKMENT AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY. PILOT STATED THAT AIRCRAFT APPEARED TO ACCELERATE NORMAL. AIRPLANE MAXIMUM CERTIFIED TAKE OFF WEIGHT IS 3,650 POUNDS. WEIGHT AND BALANCE CALCULATIONS BASED ON AIRCRAFT RECORDS AND WEIGHTS VOLUNTEERED BY PILOT AND PASSENGERS ALONG WITH FULL FUEL INDICATE THAT THE ESTIMATED WEIGHT WOULD HAVE BEEN 3,842 POUNDS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA09LA530](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA09LA530), Sep 19, 2009: Beech A36 (N57S), Fairmont, WV, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's delay in aborting the takeoff, resulting in an overun. Contributing to the accident was the overweight condition of the airplane.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
