## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LAND AT NEWTON FIELD, JACKMAN, MAINE PILOT NEGLECTED TO LOWER THE LANDING GEAR. PILOT REALIZED ERROR AND INITIATED A "GO-AROUND". DUE TO ENGINE TORQUE AIRCRAFT ROLLED SLIGHTLY LEFT AT WHICH TIME THE LEFT FLOAT CONTACTED THE RUNWAY CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO YAW TO THE LEFT. AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY SURFACE AND HIT DITCH ALONG THE SIDE OF RUNWAY. BOTH LEFT HAND LOWER FLOAT FITTING FAILED. NO APPRECIABLE AIRCRAFT DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
