## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT FLEW TO A HUNTING SITE APPROXIMATELY SIXTY FIVE MILES EAST OF BETHEL ON CRIPPLE CREEK WHICH FLOWS NORTH INTO SALMON RIVER. THE AIRSTRIP IS NOT AN IMPROVED OR PUBLISHED AIRPORT, ALTHOUGH IT IS USED BY OTHER AIRCRAFT. ON APPROACH TO LANDING THE PILOT DETECTED A WIND SHIFT AND ADDED POWER FOR A GO AROUND. THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT CLIMB AS READILY AS THE PILOT WANTED IT TO AFTER ADDING POWER. THE AIRCRAFT HIT A SPRUCE TREE. THE PILOT DID NOT RECALL ANYTHING ELSE AFTER THAT.
