## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING HIGH SPEED TAXI TEST ON RUNWAY 11, N72TZ A FRAZIER ALLEN TANGENT, AND AIRCRAFT OF THE PILOTS OWN DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION, THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT, THE AIRCRAFT PITCHED UP AT ABOUT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE AND CLIMBED TO ABOUT 125 FT. AT THIS POINT THE AIRCRAFT STARTED AN UNCONTROLLED DESCENT, TURNED ABOUT 90 DEGREES FROM THE RUNWAY HEADING AND CRASHED IN A LEVEL ATTITUDE ABOUT 150 FT OF THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT HAD TRAVELED ABOUT 2700 FT FROM THE START OF THE TAXI RUN TO THE ACCIDENT SITE. THE AIRCRAFT HAD BEEN CERTIFICATED ON 07-02-09 AND WAS BEING TESTED IN THE GROUND HANDLE PHASE. INITIAL TAXI TESTS HAD SHOWN THAT THE ELEVATOR DID NOT SEEM TO HAVE ENOUGH AUTHORITY. THE ELEVATOR WAS REDESIGNED, INSTALLED AND RIGGED THE DAY BEFORE THE ACCIDENT.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
