## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER TAKE OFF, THE PILOT HEARD A NOISE AS THE LANDING GEAR WAS RETRACTED. THE PILOT RETURNED TO THE DEPARTURE AIRPORT (6I4) AND LANDED WITH THE NOSE GEAR IN AN UNLOCKED POSITION. THE NOSE GEAR WOULD NOT EXTEND FULLY DUE TO A RETRACTION SYSTEM FAILURE.ON LANDING, BOTH PROPELLERS CONTACTED THE RUNWAY. PROPELLER BLADE IMPACT DAMAGE INDICATED THAT THE ENGINES HAD MADE FOUR ROTATIONS PRIOR TO STOPPING. THE LOWER PORTION OF THE AIRCRAFT NOSE AND NOSE LANDING GEAR DOORS CONTACTED THE RUNWAY BECAUSE THE NOSE GEAR REMAINED IN A RETRACTED POSITION.THE AIRCRAFT TRAVELED APPROXIMATELY 900 FEET PAST FIRST RUNWAY CONTACT BEFORE COMING TO REST ON THE RUNWAY.INCIDENT # IGL112009071

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
