PILOT WAS FLYING APPROXIMATELY 2000 FT WHEN HE NOTICED A SLIGHT ENGINE VIBRATION.  THE VIBRATION CONTINUED TO GET WORSE SO HE LOOKED FOR A PLACE TO LAND.  AFTER 5 MINUTES THE ENGINE SEIZED.  HE LANDED LONG OVER SOME TREES AND THEN TURNED INTO A WET AREA OF THE FIELD WHERE THE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED AND THE AIRCRAFT SPUN AROUND.
