## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT DEVELOPED A HIGH SINK RATE WHILE ON APPROACH TO THE NONDALTON AIRPORT. PILOT ADDED FULL POWER WHICH WAS NOT SUFFICIENT TO EFFECT A SUCESSFUL GO-AROUND.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC10CA002](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC10CA002), Oct 10, 2009: Piper PA-31-350 (N27231), Nondalton, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's decision to attempt a landing in weather conducive to strong downdrafts, resulting in a loss of control.

## Other reports on N27231 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19861106065159I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19861106065159I), Nov 6, 1986: Piper PA31350 (N27231), Las Vegas, NV. Engine shut down after rise and fall of EGT. Safe landing. Left magneto bendix oil seal leaking.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
