## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 21, 2009 N690TR, A TWIN COMMANDER 690, EXPERIENCED A COLLAPSE OF THE RH MAIN LANDING GEAR WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LAND AT CEDAR CITY, UT (CDC). THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED FROM CEDAR CITY, UT AND WAS ENROUTE TO MILFORD, UT WHEN THE RH MAIN GEAR WOULD NOT EXTEND FULLY. THE PILOT RETURNED TO CEDAR CITY, UT AND ATTEMPTED FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO HOURS TO GET THE GEAR TO EXTEND. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN ON THE RUNWAY, THE RH MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED AND THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF IT'S BELLY JUST INSIDE OF THE RIGHT HAND GEAR. THE AIRCRAFT SLID TO THE RIGHT, DEPARTED THE RUNWAY INTO THE DIRT AND CAME TO REST APPROXIMATELY TEN FEET FROM THE EDGE OF THE RUNWAY. THERE WAS ONE PERSON ON BOARD THE AIRCRAFT WITH NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR10LA034](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR10LA034), Oct 21, 2009: Aero Commander 690 (N690TR), Cedar City, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of the landing gear accumulator/regulator and the installation of the improper priority valve, which precluded the landing gear from extending and locking into place.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
