## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE IN CRUISE FLIGHT THE ENGINE STARTED RUNNING ROUGH. PILOT MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING TO RWY 15L AND TAXIED TO RAMP WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE FACILITY AT BWI REMOVED COWLING AND DID NOT SEE AND OBVIOUS ISSUES. AIRCRAFT ENGINE WAS RUN AND DURING THE RUN THE CYLINDER HEAD BLOW OFF THE #1 CYLINDER. THIS DAMAGED THE CYLINDER, FUEL PRIMER LINE, ENGINE IGNITION HARNESS AND BAFFLING. THIS WAS AN ECI CYLINDER WITH LESS THAN 300 HOURS SINCE THE ENGINE OVERHAUL. ECI TOLD THE BWI FACILITY TO REMOVE ALL THE CYLINDERS AND THEY WOULD SEND ALL NEWCYLINDERS AND TAKE CARE OF THE LABOR TO GET EVERYTHING DONE.

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
