## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT HAD JUST LANDED ON RUNWAY 16 AT BOUNTIFUL SKYPARK (BTF). ACCORDING TO THE PILOT ABOUT 30 FEET AFTER TOUCHDOWN DURING THE ROLLOUT FROM A WHEEL LANDING HE HEARD A LOUD "POP". THE AIRCRAFT STARTED TO LEAN TOWARDS THE RIGHT. THE PILOT COULD NOT KEEP THE AIRCRAFT ON THE RUNWAY EVEN WITH FULL LEFT RUDDER AND BRAKE. THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE WEST SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND AS THE FLAT RIGHT MAIN TIRE CONTACTED THE DIRT THE AIRCRAFT 'GROUND LOOPED" TO THE RIGHT. THE LEFT WING AND LEFT PORTION OF THE ELEVATOR CONTACTED THE GROUND DURING THE GROUND LOOP. THE LEFT AILERON SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE. POST ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION SHOWED THE RIGHT MAIN TIRE TUBE TO HAVE APPROXIMTELY A ONE QUARTER OF AN INCH SPLIT IN THE SIDEWALL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR10CA041](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR10CA041), Oct 31, 2009: Cessna 180 (N1712C), Bountiful, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of the inner tube of the right main tire during the landing roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
