## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 31, 2009 AT APPROXIMATELY 1845 MOUNTAIN DAYLIGHT TIME, A SINGLE ENGINE CESSNA 182, N652CP WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED WHEN IT IMPACTED A SNOW BANK AND EXPERIENCED A HARD LANDING. THE PILOT AND FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR WERE PRACTICING A NO-FLAP SIMULATED POWER-OFF LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT WAS BELOW THE NORMAL GLIDE PATH FOR RUNWAY 15 AT THE FORT COLLINS/LOVELAND AIRPORT. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED A SNOW BANK PRIOR TO THE RUNWAY THRESHOLD CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO LAND HARD ON THE RUNWAY SURFACE, RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE MAIN LANDING GEAR AND ELEVATOR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN10LA047](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN10LA047), Nov 1, 2009: Cessna T182T (N652CP), Loveland, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to attain the proper touchdown point during dusk light conditions, and his failure to execute a go-around.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
