## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER TWO ABORTED TAKEOFF ATTEMPTS FROM A PRIVATE DIRT STRIP (MINERAL BOTTOM) BECAUSE OF ZERO AIRSPEED INDICATION. THE PILOT ATTEMTPED A THIRD TAKEOFF. THE PILOT CLAIMS TO HAVE HAD A POSITIVE AIRSPEED INDICATON ON THIS THIRD ATTEMPT. THE AIRCRAFT LIFTED OFF THE GROUND BUT SOON SETTLED BACK TO THE DIRT STRIP. AT THIS POINT THE PILOT DECIDED TO ABORT THE TAKEOFF. THE PILOT APPLIED HEAVY BRAKING AND WAS UNABLE TO KEEP THE AIRCRAFT UPRIGHT. THE TAIL OF THE AIRCRAFT ROSE AND THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED OVER TAIL FIRST.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR10CA043](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR10CA043), Nov 1, 2009: Cessna 120 (N2729N), Mineral Canyon, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's incorrect use of brakes, which resulted in the airplane nosing over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
