## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON NOVEMBER 6, 2009, AT APPROXIMATELY 0100 LOCAL TIME, PILOT IN COMMAND, MR. JOHN RICHTER WAS INSTRUCTING MR. YULEI (LEE) WU DURING TAKEOFF AT DENTON MUNICIPAL AIRPORT. JUST BEFORE ROTATION, CESSNA, CE-172, N12180 STRUCK A DEER. THE IMPACT DENTED THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ENGINE COWLING AND DAMAGED THE ENGINE EXHAUST PIPE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS BROUGHT TO A STOP ON THE RUNWAY, THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE AIRCRAFT OCCUPANTS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
