## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THIS WAS AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT. THE STUDENT WAS PRACTICING SINGLE ENGINE LANDINGS AT DAVID WAYNE HOOKS AIRPORT (DWH) IN PREPARATION FOR A PRACTICAL TEST. DUE TO HIGH VOLUME OF TRAFFIC LANDING AT DWH, THE STUDENT PILOT EXTENDED HIS DOWNWIND LEG AND DELAYED PUTTING THE LANDING GEAR DOWN. NEITHER THE INSTRUCTOR OF STUDENT HEARD THE LANDING GEAR HORN GO OFF AND THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN WITH THE GEAR UP. THE STUDENT EXECUTED A GO-AROUND, PUT THE GEAR DOWN AND LANDED SAFELY. DAMAGE WAS MINOR CONSISTING OF DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLERS AND THE FOOT STEP.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
