As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 11/14/2009 AT APPROX 4:30 PM EST WHILE GIVING FLIGHT INSTRUCTION IN N2374 A ROBINSON R-22 BETA HELICOPTER. DURING DEMONSTRATION OF HOVERING OPERATIONS THE INSTRUCTOR ALLOWED STUDENT TO ATTEMPT TO MAINTAIN HELICOPTER STABILITY USING CYCLIC CONTROL. THE AIRCRAFT MOVED RIGHT AND THE INSTRUCTOR APPARENTLY FAILED TO CORRECT STUDENT INPUT QUICK ENOUGH TO PREVENT THE RIGHT SKID FROM IMPACTING GROUND CAUSING HELICOPTER TO SUBSEQUENTLY ROLL OVER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA10CA065](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA10CA065), Nov 14, 2009: Robinson Helicopter R22 Beta (N2374), Georgetown, KY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain adequate clearance from the surface during lateral hover, which resulted in dynamic rollover.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong.
