## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER LANDING ON RUNWAY 35 AT PALM BEACH COUNTY GLADES AIRPORT (PHK), MR. BECKSTROM WAS CLEARED TO TAXI TO THE REFUELING FACILITY. MR. BECKSTROM ESTIMATED THE WINDS TO BE AT 090 AND THE WIND SOCK WAS ALMOST FULLY ERECT. MR. BECKSTROM PLANNED TO LAND HEADING APPROXIMATELY 360 DEGREES. AS HE WAS LANDING, AT THE FUELING AREA, THE WIND CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO BEGIN MOVING TOWARD THE FUEL EQUIPMENT. THE AIRCRAFT STARTED A SPIN THAT COULD NOT BE CORRECTED USING THE ANTI-TORQUE PEDALS. THE AIRCRAFT COMPLETED APPROXIMATELY ON 360 DEGREE SPIN WHEN ONE OF THE ROTOR BLADES HIT A STEEL POLE THAT WAS FILLED WITH CEMENT. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON ITS RIGHT SIDE WITH THE NOSE ON A HEADING OF APPROXIMATELY 350 DEGREES. MR. BECKSTROM SUFFERED MINOR CUTS ON HIS RIGHT ARM.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA10CA064](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA10CA064), Nov 14, 2009: Robinson Helicopter R22 Beta (N74632), Pahokee, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain control of the helicopter.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
