ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2009 DURING THE NELLIS AIRSHOW, N186AM, AN F-86F, SERIAL NUMBER 52-5012, LOST THE RIGHT DROP TANK DURING A "KOREAN WAR" RE-ENACTMENT. INSPECTOR FROM THE LAS FSDO WITNESSED THE EVENT AND FORTUNATELY, THE TANK LANDED HARMLESSLY ON THE AIRFIELD WITH NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT, PERSONS OR PROPERTY. THE AIRCRAFT WAS INSPECTED BY THE LAS FSDO INSPECTORS AFTER LANDING AND NO OBVIOUS DAMAGE OR REASON FOR THE LOSS OF THE TANK WAS NOTED. THE TANK COULD NOT BE INSPECTED SINCE IT WAS LOCATED ON THE AIRFIELD AND THERE WAS NO IMMEDIATE ACCESS ALLOWED.
