## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON FINAL APPROACH THE ENGINE QUIT RUNNING SO THE PILOT LANDED ON A RESIDENDIAL ROAD. HE HIT A TREE WITH THE LEFT WING WHILE IN THE AIR. THE AIRCRAFT THEN IMPACTED WITH THE ROAD AND SLID DOWN IT. THE PLANE CAME TO REST IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF FLIGHT .5 MILES FROM THE AIRPORT.AFTER INVESTIGATING THE ACCIDENT IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE QUIT BECAUSE OF FUEL STARVATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN10LA056](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN10LA056), Nov 18, 2009: Navion Navion G (N2493T), Montrose, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: A loss of engine power due to the pilot’s inadequate preflight planning.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
