## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING UPS FLIGHT #34 FROM SDF-HNL, AT A CRUISING ALTITUDE OF FL 340, THE #2 ENGINE OIL PRESSURE DROPPED, FOLLOWED MOMENTARILY BY ENGINE FAILURE. THE ENGINE WAS SHUT DOWN AND APPROPRIATE CHECKLISTS COMPLETED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS PAST BOTH EQUAL TIME POINTS SO THE FLIGHT CONTINUED TO HNL WHERE AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING WAS MADE ON RUNWAY 8L. SUBSEQUENT INSPECTION OF THE OIL FILTER AND CHIP DETECTORS REVEALED AN AMOUNT OF METAL SUFFICIENT TO REQUIRE ENGINE REPLACEMENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
