## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON DECEMBER 08, 2009 AT 2315 LOCAL TIME, PIC GERALD HENSON, ATP CERTIFICATE #438534487 ATTEMPTED TO LAND MITSUBISHI MU2-60B N610CA AT GWINNETT COUNTY AIRPORT (LZU) LAWRENCEVILLE, GA. THE PILOT STATED THAT ON APPROACH, 50 FEET ABOVE THE RUNWAY, THE AIRCRAFT LOST 40 KNOTS OF AIRSPEED AND WANTED TO ROLL. HE ATTEMPTED TO ABORT THE LANDING BY DROPPED THE NOSE, INCREASING POWER, AND RETRACTING THE LANDING GEAR AT WHICH TIME THE AIRCRAFT MADE CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY. FURTHERMORE, HE REPORTED THAT WHEN THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN ON HIS SECOND LANDING ATTEMPT, HE DEPLOYED THE THRUST REVERSERS AND THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT COLLAPSED CAUSING IT TO RUN OFF THE NORTHWEST SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO TRAVEL APPROXIMATELY 150 YARDS OFF THE RUNWAY, SPUN 180 DEGREES, AND CAME TO REST WITHIN THE RUNWAY SAFETY ZONE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
