## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE INBOUND TO LONG BEACH AIRPORT (LGB), THE PILOT/INSTRUCTOR NOTICED A SPIKE IN THE MANIFOLD PRESSURE ACCOMPANIED BY A SHUDDER AND PARTIAL LOSS OF POWER. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MANUEVER TO THE COMPANY HELICOPTER PARKING WHICH IS LOCATED ON THE AIRPORT THE PILOT OBSERVED A CONTINUING DEGRADATION OF POWER AND RPM'S RESULTING IN AN OFF AIRPORT LANDING. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT OTHER THAN THE INTERNAL ENGINE DAMAGE SUFFERED AS A RESULT OF THE #4 INTAKE VALVE FAILURE. SDR REPORT FILED BY TIM'S AIRCRAFT #2009FA0001069

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
