## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PULLING PROP THROUGH PRIOR TO STARTING, KEYS OUT AND MASTER OFF, EIGHTH OF A TURN-ENGINE STARTED WITH NON-PILOT PASSENGER ON BOARD. AIRCRAFT TRAVELED APPROX. 100 YARDS, HIT PARKED AIRCRAFT AND CAME TO A STOP. SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO BOTH AIRCRAFT. NO INJURIES. INVESTIGATION UNCOVERED BROKEN "P" LEAD ON L/H MAG.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR10LA091](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR10LA091), Dec 22, 2009: Beech A23-24 (N973WP), Camas, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The left magneto's broken p-lead, which led to the engine inadvertently starting while the pilot was turning the propeller by hand.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
