## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT TAXIING INTO GATE M9, OHARE AIRPORT (ORD) INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL , STRUCK A CARGO LOADER THAT WAS SITTING INSIDE THE RED SAFETY ZONE WITH THE NUMBER 4 ENGINE COWL. KLM WAS USING THE GATE ELECTRONIC GIUDANCE SYSTEM FOR PLACEMENT OF AIRCRAFT AT GATE M9. THE LEAD MARSHALL TURNED ON THE ELECTRONIC GUIDANCE SYSTEM AFTER VERIFYING THE SAFE AREA WAS CLEAR. THERE WAS AN AMERICAN AIRLINES CARGO LOADER SITTING IN THE SAFE AREA WHEN THE AIRCRAFT APPROACHED GATE M9 LEAD IN LINE AND STOP LINE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
