## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT/A&P/OWNER, WAS WORKING ON THE AUTO PILOT, ON THE DAY OF THE ACCIDENT. THE PILOT TOOK A PASSENGER FOR THE TEST FLIGHT, OF THE AUTO PILOT. A WITNESS OBSERVED THE PLANE 1,600 FEET FROM THE END OF THE RUNWAY, DOING A FLYBY AT ABOUT 50 FEET AGL. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST 1,630 FEET FROM THE END OF THE RUNWAY, IN A NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE AND WITH EVIDENCE OF A SPIN TO THE LEFT. WEIGHT AND BALANCE INFORMATION SHOWED THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS 267 LBS OVER THE RECOMMENDED GROSS WEIGHT AND 389 LBS OVER THE ACROBATIC GROSS WEIGHT. THE CENTER OF GRAVITY (CG) CALCULATIONS SHOWED THE CG WAS 0.27 BEHIND THE DESIGN CG AND 1.77 BEHIND THE AEROBATIC CG LIMIT.
