## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT PICKED UP A LOAD WITH LONG LINE HELICOPTER AND WAS TRANSPORTING TO DROP LOCATION. PILOT WAS PARALLELING POWER LINES AND DID NOT SEE A POWER LINE RUNNING 90 DEGREES FROM THE POWER LINE HE WAS FOLLOWING. STRUCK THE POWER LINE WITH THE LOAD AND TORE THE LINE DOWN. WHEN PILOT NOTICED THE POWER LINE THAT HE STRUCK HE DISENGAGED THE LOAD AND LET IT FALL TO THE GROUND. NO DAMAGE TO THE HELICOPTER OR INJURIES TO ANY PERSONS. NO WITNESSES ON THE SCENE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
