## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS ATTEMPTING A SOFT-FIELD TAKEOFF USING RWY 1L AT THE BETHEL AIRPORT WHEN THE AIRCRAFT YAWED AND BANKED VIOLENTLY TO THE LEFT JUST AS THE NOSE WHEEL STARTED TO RISE SLIGHTLY. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED 90 DEGREES AND CONTINUED INTO THE GRASSY SECTION TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST BETWEEN THE RUNWAY AND THE TAXIWAY. THE PILOT STATED IN HIS WRITTEN REPORT THAT IT FELT LIKE THE LEFT MAIN HAD ENCOUNTERED AN EXTREME AMOUNT OF DRAG JUST PRIOR TO YAWING AND BANKING VIOLENTLY TO THE LEFT. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT DAME TO THE PROPELLER, ENGINE (SUDDEN STOPPAGE), ENGINE FIREWALL AND SUPPORTING STRUCTURE, AND LOWER FUSELAGE FRAMES, SKINS, STRINGERS.
