## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N644EM DEPARTED DFW AT 01:11 CST ON FEBRUARY 4, 2010, IFR, AND LANDED AT AMA AT 02:15, RUNWAY 4, IN AMARILLO, TX (AMA). THE RUNWAY HAD RECEIVED 3 TO 5 INCHES OF SNOW ON THE PREVIOUS DAY AND HAD BEEN PLOWED. THE VISIBILITY WAS 2 MILES IN LIGHT SNOW WITH THE WINDS 120 DEG AT 8 KNOTS. TMEPERATURE AND DEWPOINT WERE MINUS 2 DEGREES CECIUS. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED SHARPLY TO THE LEFT WHEN THE LEFT MAIN WHEEL CONTACED A SNOW BERM FROM THE PREVIOUS PLOWING OPERATION. THE LOW CLOUDS AND NIGHT TIME VISIBILLITY WAS A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR AND OBSCURRED THE PILOT'S VIEW OF THE RUNWAY DURING THE LANDING ROLL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN10LA117](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN10LA117), Feb 4, 2010: Mitsubishi MU-2B-60 (N644EM), Amarillo, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's loss of directional control while landing on an ice/snow covered runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
