## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER DEPARTURE FROM LAKE HOOD, AND DURING 2500 FEET AT CRUISE, OIL TEMPERATURE STARTED INCREASING. OIL TEMPERATURE CONTINUED INCREASE FROM 170 THRU 200 TO 240 DEGREES. POWER WAS BEING REDUCED FROM 2500 RPM TO 1800 RPM WITH CARB HEAT "ON", THE TEMPERATURE REMAINED OVER 240. PILOT CONTACTED "ATC" TO REPORT A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING. AT 1500 RPM DURING LANDING, LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE WITH A ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE. THE LANDING WAS AT "FLAT HORN" LAKE WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. AFTER ADDING 3 QUARTS OF OIL, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START. A SATELLITE PHONE WAS USED TO CONTACT RECOVERY PERSONNEL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
