## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON TAKE OFF (ROTATION) FROM RUNWAY 26, AFTER APPROXIMATELY TWO SECONDS AFTER GEAR RETRACTION, THE CABIN FILLED WITH SMOKE, PILOT SMELLED BURNT OIL AND ELECTED TO REDUCE POWER TO IDLE AND ATTEMPT "ON AIRPORT LANDING". THE AIRPLANE MADE A GEAR UP LANDING ON RUNWAY 26 APPROXIMATELY 200 FEET FROM THE END OF THE PAVEMENT. THE AIRCRAFT SLID OFF THE RUNWAY AND CAME TO REST ON SOFT OVERRUN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
