## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT LANDED ON RUNWAY 04 AT AEROACRES AIRPORT OG30. THIS IS A GRASS STRIP 1800 FT WHICH WAS RECENTLY MOWED AND IN GOOD CONDITION. PILOT REPORTED HE LANDED FAST WITH FULL FLAPS (70 MPH). N209MT BOUNCED AND HE ADDED POWER TO STABILIZE. HE SETTLED ON THE RUNWAY UNDER CONTROL. AT ABOUT MIDFIELD HE REALIZED HE WAS STILL FAST AND HE DID NOT FEEL HE COULD GO AROUND AND OUT CLIMB THE TREES AND HOUSES ON THE NORTH END OF THE AIRPORT. WITH HARD BRAKING APPLIED THE AIRCRAFT SLID IN THE GRASS OVER 300 FT BEFORE COMING TO THE END OF THE RUNWAY. WITH NO OVERRUN AREA AT THE NORTH EAST END OF RUNWAY 04 THE AIRCRAFT SLID OFF THE END AND INTO A 3-4 FOOT DEEP DITCH RESULTING IN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE LH WING. THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE GROUND AND STOPPED THE ENGINE ON FIRST BLADE IMPACT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR10CA145](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR10CA145), Feb 22, 2010: Terrell Caragol RV-7 (N209MT), Oregon City, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to attain a proper touchdown point.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
