## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON FEBRUARY 22, 2010, AT APPROXIMATELY 1440 CDT, THE PILOT IN COMMAND OF N81, A BEECHCRAFT 300, EXPERIENCED A FAILURE OF THE COPILOT'S WINDSHIELD DURING CRUISE FLIGHT IN IMC CONDITIONS AT FLIGHT LEVEL 230. THE PIC REPORTED LIGHT TO MODERATE ICING CONDITIONS AND STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD HEAT WAS ON. THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING OPERATED BY AVIATION SYSTEM STANDARDS AS FLIGHT CHECK 81 DEPARTING WICHITA, KANSAS WITH THE DESTINATION OF TEKAMAH, NEBRASKA. ONCE THE WINDSHIELD FAILED, THE AIRCRAFT DIVERTED TO EPPLEY AIRFIELD IN OMAHA, NEBRASKA. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
