## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE AT ASHEBORO AIRPORT ON MARCH 3RD 2010, AT APPROXIMATELY 1645 LOCAL TIME, THE PILOT STATED HE DECIDED TO TAKE N7790Y TO DO A FULL RUN UP AND RE-FUEL IT IN PREPARATION FOR A TRIP ON MAY 4TH. ONCE AT THE END OF THE TAXIWAY FOR RUNWAY 03, THE PILOT STARTED THE RUN UP. CHECK LIST REQUIRES A MAGNETOS CHECK BE PERFORMED AT 2200 RPM. DURING THIS TEST THE PILOT STATED HIS LEFT FOOT SLIDE OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS MADE THE AIRCRAFT DO A SHARP RIGHT TURN THAT TOOK THE AIRCRAFT OFF THE TAXIWAY. THE PILOT THROTTLED BACK AND TRIED TO REPOSITION HIS LEFT FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT IT WAS TOO LATE TO PREVENT THE AIRCRAFT FROM EXITING THE TAXIWAY. HE WAS ABLE TO GAIN RE-ENTRY TO THE TAXIWAY, AND TOOK THE AIRPLANE BACK TO BE REFUELED . UPON SHUTTING DOWN THE ENGINES, HE NOTICED THAT BOTH PROPELLERS HAD BEEN DAMAGED. AFTER PARKING THE AIRCRAFT, HE WENT BACK TO CHECK FOR DAMAGE TO THE TAXIWAY EDGE LIGHTING BUT EVERYTHING APPEARED TO BE INTACT. WITNESS STATEMENTS INDICATE THAT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS ATTEMPTING TO LAND WITH THE LANDING GEAR UP WHEN THE PROPS STRUCK THE RUNWAY. UNABLE TO OBTAIN A WRITTEN STATEMENT FROM WITTNESS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
