## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

VIDEO RECORDING OF THE ACCIDENT IN FLIGHT DOCUMENTED THE AEROBATIC MANEUVERING THAT LED TO A LOSS OF CONTROL, AND A SUBSEQUENT STALL-SPIN ACCIDENT. FIELD INVESTIGATION REVEALED UNAIRWORTHY CONDITION OF WING FABRIC WITH SIGNIFICANT INDICATIONS OF FAILURE. FUEL WAS PRESENT IN THE CARBURETOR. PROPELLER INDICATES THAT THE POWERPLANT WAS NOT MAKING POWER AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. AIRCRAFT IMPACTED TERRAIN FROM A VERTICAL PLUNGE WITH THE AFT END OF THE AIRCRAFT FIRST. PILOT WAS FOUND FOUR FEET FROM WRECKAGE WITH INDICATIONS THAT HE IMPACTED THE SNOW AND TERRAIN FROM A VERTICAL DIRECTION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC10FA022](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC10FA022), Mar 14, 2010: Antares MA-32 (N7JQ), Chugiak, AK, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's decision to pitch the aircraft excessively during a steep climbing maneuver, resulting in a loss of control and an aerodynamic tumble.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
