## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE LOW TIME PILOT ATTEMPTED TO LAND THE AIRCRAFT. IN THE LANDING FLAIR, THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN ON THE RUNWAY WITH ALL THREE WHEELS SIMULTANEOUSLY. THIS CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO BOUNCE BACK INTO THE AIR. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT; HOWEVER, THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN. THE PILOT FINALLY ADDED POWER TO THE ENGINE THROTTLE FOR A GO-AROUND BUT STALLED THE AIRCRAFT AND THE NOSE TIRE/STRUT ALONG WITH THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE RUNWAY AND WERE DAMAGED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA10CA196](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA10CA196), Mar 27, 2010: Diamond DA20 (N552MA), Chesapeake, VA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper recovery from a bounced landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
