## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER A DOWNWIND LANDING ON AN ICE COVERED FROZEN LAKE, AIRMAN ADDED POWER TO TURN THE AIRCRAFT AROUND IN ORDER TO TAXI TO PARKING. ONE SKI WAS ON ICE AND THE OTHER WAS ON SNOW. THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO MAKE THE AIRCRAFT TURN IN THE DESIRED DIRECTION AND HE KEPT INCREASING POWER. THE SKI-EQUIPPED AIRCRAFT SLID ON THE ICE CAUSING BOTH WINGS TO IMPACT TREES. THE AIRPLANE WAS BEING OPERATED BY THE STATE OF ALASKA, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, WHEN THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED. THE SOLO PRIVATE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
