## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED RUNWAY 9 TO THE NORTH. THREE MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT WHILE CLIMBING THE ENGINE LOST ALL POWER. EMERGENCY PROCEDURES WERE INITIATED AND PILOT MADE AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING IN A CORN FIELD 4 MILES NORTH, NORTH EAST OF K3M5. NO VISIBLE DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT OR LANDING GEAR. INSPECTION OF ENGINE REVEALED A COLLAPSED INTAKE AIR HOSE FROM THE AIR INTAKE AIR FILTER TO THE CARBURATOR AIR BOX. AIR INTAKE HOSE WAS REPLACED AND ENGINE RAN NORMALLY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
