## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT OBTAINED A WEATHER BRIEFING FROM LOCKHEED MARTIN AFSS. HE PROCEEDED TO THE AURORA AIRPORT AND CONDUCTED A PREFLIGHT INSPECTION. HE STARTED THE AIRPLANE, PUT ON HIS HEADSET AND TUNED THE ATIS ON THE RADIO. THE PA-28 WAS SITTING ON THE RAMP IN FRONT OF LUMINAIR'S HANGAR. N7769J, AN EXTRA 300 WAS UNOCCUPIED AND PARKED 100' WEST OF THE PA-28. THE PILOT'S HEAD WAS DOWN WHILE COPYING THE ATIS INFORMATION. WHEN HE LOOKED UP, HE SAW THAT HE WAS ABOUT TO HIT THE EXTRA AND HIT THE BRAKES. THE PA-28 IMPACTED THE REAR OF THE EXTRA, DAMAGING THE EMPENNAGE OF THE EXTRA AND THE LEFT FUEL TANK AND PROPELLER OF THE PA-28.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
