## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON ABOVE DATE AND TIME, PIC JAMES WAS PERFORMING STALL MANEUVERS IN HIS EXPERIMENTAL COZY MARK 1V AIRCRAFT N68TF, WITHIN THE NORTHWEST PRACTICE AREA. STALLS WERE BEING PERFORMED IN ORDER TO DETERMINE IF THE CANARD ELEVATOR AUTHORITY WAS OPERATING ACCORDING TO SPECIFICATIONS, AND IN ORDER TO MAKE APPROPRIATE ADJUSTMENTS IF NECESSARY. THESE POSSIBLE ADJUSTMENTS IF MADE, WOULD BE TO SLOW THE AIRCRAFTS APPROACH SPEED FOR LANDING PURPOSES. DURING HIS LAST STALL MANEUVER, FROM AN ALTITUDE OF 7,000 FEET MSL, OR 3,200 FEET AGL, THE MAIN WING STALLED PRIOR TO THE CANARD STALLING AND RESULTED IN LOSS OF AIRCRAFT CONTROL. THE AIRCRAFT STALL/DESCENT RATE WAS INDICATED AT APPROXIMATELY 200 FEET PER MINUTE AT THE TIME OF IMPACT. AIRCRAFT CONTROL WAS NEVER REGAINED THROUGHOUT THE MANEUVER, AND THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE DESERT TERRAIN IN A NOSE HIGH ATTITUDE. ACCORDING TO THE OWNER, THE AIRCRAFT WAS A TOTAL LOSS. INVESTIGATION ONGOING. TO BE AMMENDED.
