## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATES HE WAS TAKING AIRCRAFT OUT TO DO A ENGINE RUN-UP ONLY. BECAUSE THE HELICOPTER HAD SAT FOR OVER A MONTH, HE CONDUCTED A MAG CHECK AT 1500 RPMS, AND ACTIVATED THE CARBURATOR HEAT. WHILE DOING SO, HE HELD THE CYCLIC BETWEEN HIS LEGS. THE PILOT ALLOWED A GUST OF WIND TO LIFT SKID. PILOT ESTIMATED 20 TO 25 KNOT WIND.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
