## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APRIL 17, 2010, AT APPROXIMATELY 1010 CDT, A TAYLORCRAFT L-2, N4376B, WAS BEING TAXIED TO RUNWAY 35 ON THE PARALLEL TAXIWAY AT THE CRETE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, CRETE, NEBRASKA. UPON REACHING THE RUNWAY 35 RUN-UP PAD, THE PRIVATE PILOT TURNED THE AIRCRAFT TO THE LEFT TO PERFORM A BEFORE TAKEOFF CHECK. AS THE AIRPLANE WAS BEING TURNED INTO THE WIND, THE TAIL RAISED OFF THE GROUND CAUSING THE PROPELLER TO STRIKE THE CONCRETE RUN-UP PAD. THE PILOT PULLED THE CONTROL STICK BACK TO LOWER THE TAIL AND SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE. ONCE THE ENGINE WAS SHUTDOWN, THE PILOT DISCOVERED THAT THE FIRST 4 ½ INCHES OF BOTH TIPS OF THE PROPELLER WERE CURLED REARWARD. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED TO THE FIXED BASE OPERATOR (FBO). THE PILOT WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT ONBOARD THE AIRCRAFT AND WAS NOT INJURED IN THE INCIDENT. NO AIRPORT PROPERTY WAS DAMAGED IN THE PROP STRIKE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
