## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APRIL 17, 2010, AT APPROXIMATELY 1533 CDT, A MOONEY (M-20C) LANDED ON RUNWAY 31 AT DES MOINES INTERNATIONAL (DSM) AIRPORT. ON LANDING ROLLOUT, AFTER SLOWING DOWN TO NEAR TAXI SPEED, THE AIRCRAFT WAS DRIFTING TO THE LEFT. THE PILOT TRIED TO STEER TO THE RIGHT BUT WAS HAVING TROUBLE. THE PILOT THEN ADDED MORE RT RUDDER, THE RT BRAKE LOCKED UP. THE AIRCRAFT TURNED SHARPLY TO THE RIGHT AND THE LT WING AND PROPELLER IMPACTED THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT THEN GAINED CONTROL AND TAXIED TO THE RAMP AND INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT. HE NOTIFIED THE DSM TOWER CONCERNING WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND TOLD THEM THAT THE AIRCRAFT HAD SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE. THE PILOT AND ONE PASSENGER WAS ON BOARD, THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO EITHER OCCUPANT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
