## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING LANDING FLARE, PILOT REPORTS HE ENCOUNTERED WINDSHEAR, AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN HARD ON THE LEFT GEAR. AIRCRAFT THEN VEERED LEFT AND DEPARTED THE RUNWAY, IMPACTING A RUNWAY SIGN BOX WHICH COLLAPSED THE NOSE GEAR AND CAUSED THE PROPELLOR TO STRIKE THE GROUND BENDING ONE BLADE. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE NOSE GEAR AND A PORTION OF THE FIREWALL. THE PILOT AND SOLE PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR10TA213](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR10TA213), Apr 19, 2010: Cessna T206H (N6045C), Fullerton, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s inadequate compensation for the wind conditions during the landing flare and failure to maintain directional control on the ground.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
